The route, which starts in Gualta, tours the area along the lower stretches of the Rivers Ter and Daró, which over the years, have generated an extensive plain that has been gradually gaining terrain from the sea. Since time immemorial, man has tried to turn numerous fertile lands to his advantage; he has squeezed land out of marshes and bogs; and he has created extensive cultivated fields: The Fields of El Pla.
