This route allows you to get an idea of the importance of agriculture and stockbreeding in the creation of the Empordą countryside. The rich fertile land was first used by the Iberians, settled on the Puig de Sant Andreu and over the millenniums, agriculture has had to adapt to the conditions of the territory, such as the cypress tree fences planted to protect the crops from the north wind, or it has had to change, such as the example of the drying up of the lake at Ullastret. In addition, however, the route will take you close to the small villages that crown the various elevations of the plain.
